Keeping Your Health in Mind

Wet Cupping

Wet Cupping, also known as Hijama, is a type of cupping therapy that involves creating a vacuum on the skin using cups made of glass, bamboo, or other materials, and then making small incisions on the skin to draw out a small amount of blood. This is believed to help remove toxins and promote healing.

During a Wet Cupping session, the therapist will first perform Dry Cupping, which involves creating a vacuum on the skin using the cups. Once the cups are removed, the therapist will make small scraps on the skin and use the cups to draw out a small amount of blood. The therapist will then apply antiseptic to the skin and apply Olive oil or Coconut Oil

Some of the potential benefits of Wet Cupping may include:

  1. Pain relief: Wet Cupping can help to reduce pain and soreness in the muscles and joints, which can improve quality of life.
  2. Improved circulation: The suction created by the cups can help to improve blood flow and lymphatic drainage, which can reduce inflammation and promote healing.
  3. Detoxification: Wet Cupping is believed to help remove toxins from the body, which can improve overall health and well-being.
  4. Improved immune function: Wet Cupping may help to boost immune function and improve the body’s ability to fight off infections and other illnesses.
  5. Improved mental health: Wet Cupping can be a relaxing and calming experience, which can help to reduce stress and anxiety.

Wet Cupping should only be performed by a trained and licensed therapist in a clean and sterile environment to minimize the risk of infection or other complications. It may not be suitable for everyone, particularly those with certain medical conditions or who are taking certain medications. It is important to consult with a healthcare professional before undergoing Wet Cupping therapy.
